" Atheists:   Zanjan: How old was he when he started questioning and doubting his parents' views? I was 5 years old. While my parents were atheists, I NEVER was. You see, I continually asked for guidance; when I asked my parents, they told me to ask somebody else. Ironically, that was the best advice they ever gave me. Technical point: One is not "raised up" in atheism. Atheism is an environment, like bushes and clumps of grass in your yard. Whereas, "raising up" means "to lift". As in raising a barn, one builds the frame on the ground (soil) then lifts it to point of standing - that is, to pull up character (virtue) to greater heights. We do this through the provision of a well-rounded education; meaning, one that doesn't deliberately omit critical fields of study and practice. Consecutive Order of Creation: mineral, vegetable, animal, man Consecutive Order of Evolution: atomic, chemical, biological, social, intellectual, spiritual. Everybody doing what the dictator wants.  prairwarur: That's the point, Beaver, there is no way too refute, or prove beliefs. That's exactly what they are, beliefs. So, for now, we are either going to believe there is a God, or there's not, or it's a maybe. As for me, I did obtain the proof I needed to know Him, but it's nothing I can share other than to express my views and why I do believe them. I will tell others, though, that if they are sincere in knowing these mysterious answers, they can do as others have done and that is to ask God for the truth. God does answer anyone who seeks after Him sincerely. Through all these threads and postings, I saw no one giving account to the fact we have all been born with free-will. "Dictator" God does not force His own will onto us. He does not tell us what to believe, He allows us to believe as we choose. He allows us to be as we choose. In the end we will all know the truth and we will also know if we followed the truth or a lie, but there is no turning back at that point.
