The Word of God is only those words that were uttered by the Revelator because He is infallible. The OT has Moses and the NT has Jesus. Only the words of these TWO are the actual Word of God in the Bible. Everything else was said by His followers, who were just men, not infallible. The Bible is a Holy Book because it contains scriptures that are held sacred. That doesn't mean that absolutely everything said by followers was accurate or conveyed in the right way. One shouldn't be following the followers. These days, only a child needs to be told not to lie. Adults who lie have no intention of stopping. The Bible claims to be inspired by God. It was written by men, but it is infallible because God is the ultimate author. Zanjan: History isn't scripture - it's an account of events. The Bible contains lots of history AFTER their Prophets died. The clergy collected new stories of faith over time so, none of that was the Word of God. No one was given the authority of the Word of God; neither Moses or Jesus appointed anyone as Their successor. Some books were scripture, some weren't: some factoids from early existence to modernity: All parts of the OT and NT were so separated they were difficult to access, being orally transmitted for a time. When they were finally penned, each "book" remained separate documents, written on clay or wax tablets or scrolls. The codex style book (book-binding) was invented in the first century AD but due to its lack of portability, it didn't fully replace the former until 600 AD. The NT continued to contain only the four gospels as scripture; that volume was huge so nobody carried one around. The other 23 so-called "books" of the Bible were personal letters, not canonized until the 5th century AD; these remained individually separated from the *Four Gospels* until the printing press was invented. Inspiration means to be moved by something somebody else did. To take what somebody else did and put your own spin on it comes from you, not God. The Apostles hearts were moved by Jesus; thus, they arose to serve God. The Lesser Prophets saw visions of the future - a real picture, not an inspiration. They were not appointed by God to lead the people, they just warned them. The Word of God is not "inspired" - it's a direct Revelation from God to a single generation. Muhammad told believers not to join their writings with His. He didn't want them to become as confused as those in former religions did.
