Zanjan: Children and youth watch Youtube videos - sensitive material may be too scary for them or trigger wrongful action in the vulnerable quarter.

The incubus and succubus were the words ancients used for "wet dream". It's nature's way of taking care of the body while the conscious mind is in sleep mode. To frighten young people over something they're not in a position to control is just sick; and, to convey details of such dreams to others is really juvenile.

prairwarur: Oh, Zan .... yet these "children" are far more learned and wiser about the supernatural than many adults. It's not a game and it's not "juvenile". Only juvenile to deny the unseen. IMHO

Zanjan: That's not been my experience.
Kids are certainly more learned academically and technologically today than they were back when somebody came up with that myth but, with the spiritual realities, those have to be taught. They can't learn that in public school.

Kids will absorb whatever comes their way. Mostly, they mimic their parents.

Having been a kid once myself, before the days of sex education in schools, I know how much garbage they can pick up on the street, stuff they never discuss with their parents. Without a quality spiritual education, they'll go off the deep end with no sense of moderation. All it takes is curiosity and a wee bit of influence.

kai malon labe: Blame it on the parents as UTube offers filters to stop children from viewing offensive material. Unfortunately, UTube's 'offensive material' is anything conservative or christian. Videos of Islamic terrorists beheading American journalists is okay but learning about God and country are taboo.
Are we at the time spoken of in Scripture when good becomes bad and bad becomes good?

PyroclasticFlo: "Sleep paralysis is a state, during waking up or falling asleep, in which a person is aware but unable to move or speak. During an episode, one may hallucinate (hear, feel, or see things that are not there), which often results in fear. Episodes generally last less than a couple of minutes."

Zanjan: An adult is prepared for that. They know what's going on and are aware there is no physical substance to what they see. It's the most receptive state of consciousness next to experiencing nirvana aka, the 12th shakra, aka, the rapture - those are even higher mental states.

By no means is any of it warfare so who would be calling it that?.

prairwarur: Zan, not sure which myth you mean. Seems our experiences are quite different. I've witnessed the spiritual realm personally, but many adults cannot usually see what children can. It appears animals and children are more in tune to the supernatural realm. Probably because they are still "pure". Nothing has blocked the way for them, no teaching, no bias or prejudice.
My experience is that children usually rebel against their parents and will delve into the opposite of what they teach. Like in the stereotype, Preacher's Kid. PK Many of these little angels will work hard to embarrass their folks. Strict parents often make children more wild than had they given them some room, or space, and this goes the other way, too.
Lenient parents often create children who yearn for discipline and structure. One quick story about this - 16 yr. old neighbor comes up to me at the community cookout and says, "Will you please let my mom know I'm over at so in so's house?" Then before she left she added, "Well, it's good to know somebody's mom knows where I will be." That saddened me very much. This young girl's parents drank so much they often blacked out and their daughter straight up said she wished for parents who knew where she was, who cared, and listened. Now she could have patterned after her parents, but she didn't. She never drank, did drugs, or get into trouble. Reverse rebellion. Parents can be the problem and the child can be the problem with no help from mom and dad at all. It's called "free will". And kids will exercise that free will! That's for sure!
Over-all, kids need security, love, structure and order to develop in the best way possible.
Parenting is tough, but we're seeing a lot of grown up kids these days who apparently were allowed to do and say as they wished while growing up. Letting kids get away with it is an easier approach than washing their mouths out with soap. Turning kids loose in the neighborhood and on the neighbors is far easier than chaperoning them all day and making structured playtime, etc. in the home. Yes, the easy way is to ignore them, but look what we've done. You can bet I'm praying! Praying for you all and our whole country and world. Come, Lord Jesus, amen. Maranatha
We're seeing a generation that appears unable to accept that not everything will just be handed to us throughout life, we must work for what we want and need.

prairwarur: Zan, I happen to believe my Bible and all that is written within. I think it is the Living Word of God and the final authority. If you have questions about the spiritual realm, because I'm not exactly sure what your point is, you can find Scriptures that talk about spirit manifestation. I may find some for you and share them here.

The incubus and succubus.

"I'm not exactly sure what your point is,"

I was responding to Pyro's post about sleep paralysis. The point was "mental receptivity".

Zanjan: Prair wrote: "It appears animals and children are more in tune to the supernatural realm"

Absolutely they are! It's not so much that they're "pure"; its that no one has inculcated fear in them yet. I remember, as a child, telling my mother and others things I saw - every one of them told me to shut up about it - that we're weren't to speak of such things. That's oppression.

Meanwhile, I learned that one merely had to carefully choose who they spoke to about it, regardless of whether they believed in these things or not; also, not to disclose all details.

Back to common sense, one shouldn't conflate the psychic with the spiritual.

Animals don't have a soul - only man has; it's the faculty of the intellect so he comprehends spiritual things. While some of us can perceive certain things using our psychic senses to some degree (it's a latent power in most), that's a different sense than grasping spiritual realities - that sight comes through the powers of virtues, which raises intellect to a higher level.

Of course, it all falls into the realm of the supernatural but these are different fields.

I appreciate your offer; however, my own scriptures address this subject in volumes and in modern language. Still, if something strikes you that you're moved to share with all of us, feel free.

chronology
chronology: Zan, animals do have spirit's, but not soul's. Jesus said something once that had sceptics chuckling. He said every animal that has ever lived is remembered by God, even little sparrow's. Sceptics loved that comment, impossible they said. Well today, most super computers can be fed the details of every animal that ever lived. It is not unreasonable to think God can hold the memory of every animal that ever lived.

Zanjan: Yes, I know animals have a spirit - all things in creation do. To each creation a different spirit ( it's the stuff of their nature) -and each is sustained by God's power. According to God, He can count every hair on your head.

Everything that moves has life but not all life is the same quality. I should think if you went to the trouble of creating a life, it's not something you'd ever forget.

Try this video out instead - for as long as it remain, that is. Might be gone before I post this message.

Zanjan: " no evil can touch us,"

Nice thought. Too bad it's not true, not historically. YOU are responsible to turn away from evil - Jesus doesn't do that for you. It's *your* life, your job, your choice, and God will hold you accountable for all of it. You may be fearless but you're not invincible.

As long as you live on earth, God sends you tests - these inform you of your weaknesses and reminds you that you're not immune to the influences of evil. You will fail some tests the first time around, guaranteed. However, you'll get another chance when it comes around again.

While you pray for comfort, forgiveness, and strength, you'll still have to step up to the plate.
