Theodicies. Have the Christians any answers to the problem of evil? (Page 4) harpalycus47: That wasn't in the question. So you agree that it would be irrational to choose to be irrational. In which case being irrational isn't a choice, so why am I irrational? harpalycus47: There isn't a perfect God to reject. Now explain how I can make an irrational decision if I am rational. zeffur: it doesn't matter if it was in the question or not, you could rationally decide to be irrational--there is a logical scenario in which it is logically valid. re: "being irrational isn't a choice" That ^^ is bad/faulty logic. People have the free will to decide to be irrational & actually are often irrational by choice--it happens every day. Smokers & atheists are a perfect examples. (Edited by zeffur) harpalycus47: It is a thought experiment, Zeffur. The parameters are fixed. You cannot introduce extraneous conditions. Let me make the parameters clear. I will change the subject to prevent further 'misunderstanding' You are a perfect being in a perfect world possessed of perfect relevant knowledge. In what possible way could you make an irrational choice? zeffur: Your logic is faulty. People make irrational decisions every day. People are created Spiritually perfect, but they do not remain Spiritually perfect. That is a reality. Your thinking is not logical. Only God is ALWAYS perfect. zeffur: Nature has no intelligence or capability to originate life/DNA & all the whole life forms that have existed on earth. We've studied nature for generations & that is a known & indisputable FACT! That means abiogenesis & evolution are 100% false. zeffur: Nature has no intelligence or capability to originate life/DNA & all the whole life forms that have existed on earth. We've studied nature for generations & that is a known & indisputable FACT! That means abiogenesis & evolution are 100% false. An intelligence creator is necessary for life to exist--we've known about that creator for millennia. (Edited by zeffur) harpalycus47: Oh double dear, Zeffur.
