Icy_Uranus: LMFAO!!!!! More copy and pasted stuff. This post is all from the website "Bible Study Manuals: Creationism vs Evolution"

Pokerman>>>> Actually, de-evolution has occurred; the observation is that there are larger groupings of species into what may be more reminiscent of the originally created kind.

Creation agrees with Darwin's observations and with the newer observations, but evolution doesn't, even though the Grants interpret this as rapid evolution. Wonderful study, great data, wrong interpretation

http://www.biblestudymanuals.net/k94.htm

Pokerman has NO original ideas in his tiny little brain. He claims to know about evolution but everything he posts is copy and pasted from other websites. He is a perfect example of brainwashing.

Someone called troll and I'm inclined to agree with them.

Lex Hardon
Lex Hardon: 'But is this really evolution? Even after the changes there is still the same array of beak sizes and shapes. This is variation and adaptation, not evolution.'

This illustrates how natural selection works.
This would essentially be micro-evolution.

Evolution involves two interrelated phenomena:

Adaptation -

Over the course of time, species modify their phenotypes in ways that permit them to succeed in their environment.

Speciation -

Over the course of time, the number of species multiplies; that is, a single species can give rise to two or more descendant species. In fact, Darwin maintained that all species are related; that is, any two species on earth today have shared a common ancestor at some point in their history. (The beauty of evolution is that the theory states that every species on this planet is related) Religion says the contrary.

Because from what i have read so far in this post there seems to be more then just creationists and evolutionists.

catnorth: evolution is the theory, natural selection and survival of the fittest are its mechanism.
We are all related as we are animals no different to the rest of the species that populate this planet.
1. DNA, this is shared with all living organisms and virus.
2. Pentadactly limbs, have you noticed how vertibrates all share the five finger and toes plan.
3. Convergent evolution. Look at the Dolphin and the fish.
To call evolution untrue is to deny your own existance.
4. The fossil record. There are missing portions yes, but what we have gives us a guide of how species have adapted and changed.
shall i go on?

john1576: BulletoothToney. You are absolutely correct about Mutations as regards to Dog Breeders. But the only reason those 'Mutated' Dogs are around is because they are coddled by their owners. There is a proposal here in England that these dogs should be allowed to die out as Breeds. How long would Bulldogs last if they were not treated like Babies by owners?. I would give Bulldogs two generations at the most, unless they could find a secure source of scavenging. Some breeds of domesticated Dogs need Veterinary attention from the moment they are born just to stay alive. Vet's have debated whether it is cruelty to continue breeding these pedigrees.

RichieM: Only some viruses have DNA most have RNA. The fossil record is becoming less relevant as it is often only useful in comparing shapes etc. However with the improvements in molecular biology and genetics the relationship's between species is being better understood

As for the comment there is still the same variation in beak sizes for instance would be true the point is that those with the best adapted beak tend to be more numerous because they are the fittest as the are more able to pass on their genes which is the definition of the fittest. Change the environment which may put them at a disadvantage and therefore may no longer be the fittest.

'evolution' is a theory that's slowly de-evolutionizing
only in its mild form it makes sense..remember things that are done on paper isn't always done in real life.

StuckInTheSixties
StuckInTheSixties: Ahh ... it's the old "evolution is just a theory" cliche.

It's been explained so many times in so many different Forum threads. It's hard to believe any person not living in a cave somewhere doesn't understand that there is a scientific usage of the word "theory" that is quite different than the colloquial usage of the word.

Taken from Wiki:
In modern science the term "theory", or "scientific theory" is generally understood to refer to a proposed explanation of empirical phenomena, made in a way consistent with the scientific method.

That there is two distinctly different usages of the word "theory" is just a quirk of English language that many religious people who know better cynically and dishonestly refuse to acknowledge.

Not only is the Theory of Evolution not "de-evolutionizing," but ever since Darwin made his profound leap of understanding, the concept of Natural Selection has been substantiated thoroughly, and repeatedly, as the science of biology has progressed, particularly with the advent of DNA analysis. All of modern biology lies on a foundation of the concept of natural selection. That there is even any discussion on the subject is a vivid demonstration of the power of religion to cause an otherwise rational person to behave irrationally.
