I haven't encountered any credible argument for either and I can't think of one If future is predetermined, we are not in control of our lives and I don't buy that.  joskirin: well...for the time being....the easiest way to "time travel" is by swallowing a sleeping pill and lay on the bed... when you woke up, it will take you 8-10 hours to the future... Goran: Ok, if for example you wanted to see the way Earth was 10 minutes ago, and if you could travel twice the speed of light, you would have to travel the distance 20 light minutes away from Earth. If Earth exploded the instant you took off, you wouldn't see that for 10 minutes. So as you see, you have to travel in space to travel in time. But if you wanted to travel in time and remain in the same space, speed will not make any difference.  Entropy: I believe that it probably is in theory. I don't know that it would be possible for a human to do it, however. I seriously doubt it. What I've spent much time wondering about is if there is a place in the universe one could travel to where time stops, and if time stops there, what would happen to the traveler? It's possible that such a place exists... seeing as how time is thought to not be constant throughout the universe.  ravnight: Check out Einstein's big idea (Theory of Relativity) video on youtube. While there are some theories that might allow time traveling, it is an observable fact that no contact has been established with anyone from the future. I think we just don't understand time very well. Lots of what be believe about time might be tainted by the way our brain works, In fact, time as we experience it is nothing but a side effect of memory. I try to think of the universe as an atemporal place, where the current state is the only existing state and 'time' is just a factor on how fast different parts on the universe are able to change their local state based on their current speed. Within that interpretation, there isn't much room for time traveling to occur simply because of the assumption that the universe exists in a singular state - there would be no destinations to time-travel to. Sil3ntA$sassin: mmm... well i reckon its probable in theory. I saw this documentary agess ago about time travel. And they said if we can add subtract, mutliplay divide, why cant we turn back the clock?... and there were some scientist blocks that were trying to figure it out and they were like interviewing them. Quite interesting i must say..  nicholmikey: Time travel is impossible. Time is not a piece of road or an object, it is a method of measurement like a ruler. How can you travel though a method of measuring something? It is like asking if you can travel back in ruler or weight scale. the only way to travel back in time would be to physically move all matter in the universe to the location that is was at the point in time that you wish to revisit, and even then that action would of taken time... you can observe the past, as light takes time to travel, and you can simulate traveling into the future by putting yourself in stasis, but that is it. at least this is what i think.
