ghostgeek: They might get energy out of the ground but it doesn't come cost free. They have to put up with volcanoes.

Iceland’s biggest active volcano is being kept under close surveillance amid signs it is waking up after centuries of slumber.

A new 1km-wide caldera – a basin-shaped volcanic depression – has been discovered by scientists in Öræfajökull, which translates as “wasteland”, in the south of the island.

The Icelandic Met Office has also received reports of the surrounding area smelling of sulphur, while geothermal water has been released from the volcano into a river on the surrounding glacier, reports Iceland Magazine.

"ToE Is not treating cancer." - Blackshoes

In this case, I'm inclined to believe Blackshoes is right.

Overzealous defenders of the ToE (whatever that is today) do tend -- in my opinion -- to exaggerate the practical applications of the theory.

I'm often told, for example, that vaccine research would be impossible, or at least compromised, were it not for the ToE. Same goes for cancer, or so the story continues.

No one I've challenged on this has ever provided evidence for the indispensability or importance of the ToE to such worthy pursuits (though I'm quite willing to be proven wrong).

And it behooves us to remember that Edward Jenner seemed to be progressing quite nicely with his vaccine research before Darwin was even born.

My own suspicion is that, if the ToE (whatever it is today) had never been constructed, or turns out to be false, as scientific theories often do, vaccine and cancer research would/will go on exactly as usual.

AchillesSinatra: Does anyone seriously suppose that, if in the miraculous event that scientists everywhere were to announce tomorrow that the theory of evolution is a load of bollocks, all progress made in cancer research to date would somehow be "undone"?

And all further progress would be halted?

That pretty much sums up most of Evolutionist and Atheism understanding in nutshell', they act as if they know things they have admitted to not knowing

I tell the truth' I lie not', there is a way to understanding to: What is, 'What was', and What will come."

It's all been witnessed, seen, and written down' so that we can know, believe an understand the truth" so long ago.

Because you and a number of others choose to reject the truth'makes no difference to anyone other than you and those that you've convinced.

The truth is there for anyone that seeks and believes it
