StuckInTheSixties: I think if I go to that link, the result will be that you'll mind-control me.

Seriously, instead of just pasting in some link, why don't you offer a synopsis of your topic, or even copy/paste some of the data from that link into this thread so that it can be examined without one having to go to some unfamiliar website?

LiptonCambell: its especially suspicious considering it has the same banner as the official Bioethics site, but its not.

Nonetheless, do I think mind control exists? In a sense. I mean, I'm sure you can torture someone until they are mind controlled- but I don't think theres a mind control beam.....

StuckInTheSixties: It all depends on what is meant by "mind control."

McDonald's commercials on TV are very persuasive in selling their burgers. Is this "mind control"?

A Las Vegas hypnotist's act features audience members being made to act like chickens. Is this "mind control"?

Victims of abductions are held against their will for years, and eventually begin to relate to and care for their captors in what is referred to "Stockholm Syndrome." Is this "mind control"?

An over-zealous police investigator convinces children that they were molested, when, in fact, they weren't. Is this "mind control"?

Or are you referring to something out of a cheezy movie or something, or some sort of internet conspiracist silliness?

LiptonCambell: It should be noted that this was an open forum in that video- according to the Ethics board website, anyone was allowed to sign up to voice their thoughts. So the fact that they listened to them doesn't give the idea any credence. People could go in there complaining about the carpeting.

That's right. Victims sais right, but your head has been blown by mass information. It is usual. Do not worry. Also u need to take care, the Internet is full of disinformation campaign. I hope you will be kept safe.

UglyNerdMan: there is no such things as complete mind control. with existing technology however you can use frequencys to make people feel agitated violent happy and sad. u can also use ultrasound to project sounds into a individual and they will be the only ones hearing it.
we have laws just passed in regards to lasers and certain light frequencies affects on the mind.

is it possible to ultimately steer a person? yes.

StuckInTheSixties: UglyNerdMan says:
"with existing technology however you can use frequencys to make people feel agitated violent happy and sad."

"frequencies" of what? Sound? Electro magnetic energy in some part of it's spectrum? What? And whatever it is, how do we know you're not just making that up, or mistaken in some way? Do you have any references to anything on that?

UglyNerdMan says:
"u can also use ultrasound to project sounds into a individual and they will be the only ones hearing it."

Again, can you back that claim up with any references? People post all kinds of shit in this Forum. Without credible references, I assume nearly everything I read here is bullshit.

UglyNerdMan says:
"we have laws just passed in regards to lasers and certain light frequencies affects on the mind."

What laws? And who are "we"? You're from New Jersey. Are you talking about NJ laws? Or Federal laws?

UglyNerdMan says:
"is it possible to ultimately steer a person? yes."

What the hell does "steer" mean?

UglyNerdMan: for stuck in the 60s its known as ELF waves. ultra low frequency waves which are produced by the us's uh weather monitoring thing known as haarp. its just a way of onitoring weather but it does and can make ultra low frequency waves. or extremely low. studies by other countries or just free press trying to make a buck like the uk released crappy over exaggerated studies on elf waves and people/ the studies are published and u can google about any of that stuff. at certain hz the brain operates and feels differently.

We passed laws on lazers in general because of their effects. you watch it on cspan.org and i mean the usa but its generally public video. When i say we i think of The USA. cuz thats where im from.

when i say steering i mean it as steering. just like steering cattle away with prods or dogs barking. I mean if you cant grasp that id be happy to help you understand it further but i dont want to waste forum space.

now instead of sitting here argueing with you i provided you with my source. sorry i didnt anticipate people would be angry as you are. stuff i said could be googled.

Ur hostility is unwarranted. calm down please. i know ur a troll and all but chill.

LiptonCambell: >>>We passed laws on lazers in general

Who is we? your city? your state? your country? the UN? your block association? Were these laws passed because "lazers" have mind control, or were there other reasons? What do these laws do, exactly?

>>>when i say steering i mean it as steering.

How about some clarity- what, exactly, do these elf waves do that "control" your mind, in a 'steering' fashion? I mean, sometimes when I touched the old TV sets, the static would give a strange noise in my ear- but that doesn't mean I'm receiving a message or commands.

UglyNerdMan: ok lipton. congress passed it as i mentioned cspan. ill be more clear. NAtionally there is lazer laws now. the details and reasoning is all there.

if you simply cant understand the concept of steering based on what i said even the cattle metaphor. well i honestly do not believe you are lacking the imagination and ability to research yourself and think of your own examples. if you need an example ill be happy to provide these that i can think off from the top of my head.

the lazer classification stuff congress did is to really calssify how lazers can affect people. a lazer can disorient a person, lights can disorient. they can be used from very far also.

police currently use flashing light devices. u can find out about that. when you steer you make something go in a direction you want them to go right?

The ultrasound projected in a person can be found on popular videos and whats on tv. My point is that theres no big secret out there that we dont already know about.

if you really honestly need more examples or figure out on your own i wont sit there and insult you guys and say you are bs or be mean or degrade you. i just wont respond anymore.

LiptonCambell: Huh?

All im asking for is a clear answer- if someone points a laser at me, what will it do?

UglyNerdMan: depends on the laser. some of them as the usa goverment has recognized can cause you to have seizures or lose bodily control. or make you lose focus, vision etc.

so back to steering examples someone looks at a cross way. he goes left and then gets a sudden weird painful feeling and then doesnt want to go that way and chooses another path.

i think the largest cause for concern is that you can be disoriented i think it was an example spoken on cspan that lazers from over a mile away can be precisely beamed into the eye of a pilot in a airplane through the glass. the pilot would feelfine for awhile and then become over bearingly nautious or disoriented. we dont want ppl incapacitating our pilots during take off now.

StuckInTheSixties: How about providing some sort of reference on this "steering" business, because frankly, it sounds like something imaginary, or at best, grossly misrepresented.

And please don't say, "Go look it up yourself." There are sort of conventions of behavior in Forums. If you make claims, and you're asked for further information, you should be prepared to present it.

Else people will think you're just bullshitting them. There's A LOT of bullshitting that happens in the Science & Technology Forum, so people tend to assume they're being bullshitted when someone is reluctant to answer questions, or provide references.

UglyNerdMan: sorry i failed to realize some of you are Canadian. just when it comes to important things like fire fighting disaster prevention i assume Canada adopts the same understandings and studies as the USA as we are so close as nations. especially important things such as the laser stuff.

so when i say we i think north America also. tho this is a world wide site.

Um, tell me ... what do you think about the notion of UFOs, extra-terrestrials, and stuff like that?

if aliens do exist i care that we leap forward enough to outclass them. however long it takes.
