Corwin
Corwin: I have extraterrestrials living in my attic. I can hear them thumping around up there during the wee hours, and sometimes they tip over my trash-cans.

I mean, sure, it COULD just be raccoons, but c'mon... what's more likely?

Right, Lori?

zeffur: re: "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Mat 7:15-20 KJV

ghostgeek: What did the most to induce the Jews to start this war, was an ambiguous oracle that was also found in their sacred writings, how, about that time, one from their country should become governor of the habitable earth. The Jews took this prediction to belong to themselves in particular, and many of the wise men were thereby deceived in their determination. Now this oracle certainly denoted the government of Vespasian, who was appointed emperor in Judea.

ghostgeek: That is your starting point. Vespasian entered Galilee, trashed it, then moved on to Jerusalem. The city was put under siege, at the time of Passover, as Vespasian was becoming ruler of the known world.

ghostgeek: Have a go at reading chapter 13. All those troubles that will come with Jesus' returns, and which will happen before all of his generation has died. If Jesus was talking around 30 AD and you add 40 years, the time some of the people listening to him might expect to have left, you get to the Jewish Revolt but no further.
