Which planet do you find more interesting for studying and exploration? kat82: For me it would be mostly Saturn, the gas planet. He has many moons to explore, which only 34 are identified and his rings even though they look solid from Earth, they are mostly composed of water ice and rocks. I guess I got more interested since my father woke me up many years ago at 3 am to show me Saturn and it's rings through our telescope... spectacular view that I will remember all my life! ZEITGEIST MARIUS: hmm it is a difficult question.for me pluto sounds very intersting because it tooks many years to do its rotation(i hope i said correctly) pluto was the god of hell something like that in roman mitology.i am not sure and the second planet i think it s jupiter because it has many moons.more than saturn i guess. i didnt have so much time to explore the planets LiptonCambell: I'd say Jupiter- the numerous moons, the radiation, the size, the bizarre clouds formations- most planets we've found are alot like Jupiter, and people speculate that one of jupiters moons may contain water.....it'd be quite interesting..... We still don't know how the great spot on Jupiter formed- and if you watch it, it actually spins the OPPOSITE of all the other clouds and storms on Jupiter. There's quite a few mystery's involving Jupiter StuckInTheSixties: Jupiter ... because of its satellite Europa, and the possibility of life there. Other than Earth, it's the most interesting object in our solar system. kat82: I agree, I'm also interested on Jupiter, this giant gas planet, with many moons and the Red Spot which exists at least since the 17th century. smoke4ever: I wonder if any scientists ever thought that the planets in our solar system served a "purpose" for being there. LiptonCambell: Scientists wouldn't. I mean, they could- but it'd never make it pass the "hypothesis" stage.... smoke4ever: stop hitting yourself, lol. Do you think all the planets in our solar system serve a purpose? LiptonCambell: Lol kinda, but not really. I mean, Jupiter protects us from asteroids and comets...but is Jupiter there BECAUSE we are here, and need it to protect us? Not really...it's just part of the interconnected system. Without it, we wouldn't be here- but that's not really the reason why Jupiter is there...
StuckInTheSixties: smoke says: "Do you think all the planets in our solar system serve a purpose?" Yes. They induce dumbass questions. | Science Chat Room 1 Person Chatting Similar Conversations |
