When did Hominids first begin wearing cool hats? (Page 2) (Post deleted by Corwin ) Corwin: Sorry, Lori. (hey, that rhymes). This thread is about the origin of hats. You're not railroading THIS thread to discuss your paranormal mysticism BULLSHIT. But of course, if you can present a valid scientific argument through the use of Quantum Physics to argue that (for example) hats may have first appeared out of the Quantum Foam during the first moments of the Big Bang, I will allow that. (Edited by Corwin) Corwin: Don't worry Near.... so far your posts have been enlightening and fresh... and definitely, although at times to a lesser extent, hat-origin related. DawnGurl: Hats did emerge from the Quantum Foam as the surf subsided as explicated by the Planck-Einstein de Broglie equation: P=(E/c,p)=h(w/c,k)=hK. Examining this equation, any sensible person could easily see the emergence of proto-hats from the Quantum-laden Foamicles. Furthermore, hatness appears in the Higgs-Boson particle. Clearly, the universe has had hats from the start, despite the forlorn utterances of religious nay-sayers. The proof is easily seen in the equation. Corwin: **takes out calculator** **clickety - clickety - clickety - clickety.......... click** Yup... the math seems to check out on my end... you can't argue with sound Physics. Aura: The essence of hat is in all things around us, just waiting for us to see it and bring the form out Corwin: A fireman wearing a scarf? I'm still pondering Aura's comment about "just waiting for us to see it and bring the form out"..... ..... I think that might get me flagged. Corwin: Oh hey... here's something to ponder... if the astronauts weren't wearing their space-helmets (a space-age form of hat), then went out into the vacuum of space, their eyes would bug out and they would die a horrible death by boiling and freezing at the same time. So... my point is.... ummm... I'm not sure I have a point... but it does sound pretty cool, and it IS vaguely hat related. DawnGurl: It's an important insight into human survival Corvy. Hats are no mere appendage to our physical structure for the sake of vanity but are, in fact, integral to our very survival. Corwin: A hat in hand is worth two on the rack. You can lead a hat to water, but you can't make it drink. A hat saved is a hat earned. Never count your hats before they've hatched. Corwin: The evidence is finally in !! A recent dig in the notably rich fossil fields of the Olduvai Gorge of Eastern Africa has yielded the as of yet oldest evidence of hats among early Hominids. This 1.4 million year old hat impression was found next to the skull of a well-preserved Homo Erectus specimen. Photo of fossil and artist's rendering. ----> Picture Although the colour and patterns were merely guessed at, it seemed to be a rather fashionable early version of a Fedora. (Edited by Corwin) (Post deleted by Corwin ) Corwin: You know, Lori... if you just came in here with some good humour instead of spite, I wouldn't delete your posts. Heck... even if you ranted on about a conspiracy of some kind, if it was somehow related to ancient or prehistoric hats, I'd be okay with that.
