badweather: i recently had a encounter driving down a some sort of popular back highway that has a lot of traffic... with my friend as i was seeing this i was saying what i saw and new wasn't a plane or helicopter, and ask if they saw what i was talking about and they said yes, so far everyone's been like yeah right do you have a picture but i was pretty sure it was unidentified

2015 NU13, 2021-Jan-09, 14.8 LD away and 408m wide.

Both the same size and one on the 9th and the 6th. Both next to each other in the Spaceweather chart.

NEO passes by today at 0.28 LD / 0.00072 AU (107 710 km / 66 900 miles).

"This is the 3rd known asteroid to flyby Earth within 1 lunar distance since the start of the year. In 2020, we had 107 such flybys, up from 77 in 2019, 76 in 2018, 55 in 2017, and 53 in 2016.

2021 AS2 was first observed at Mt. Lemmon Survey, Arizona on January 8, one day before the object's close approach.

The object belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids and has an estimated diameter between 3.3 and 7.5 m (10.8 - 24.6 feet)."The Watchers.

The American Meteor Society (AMS) received 579 reports, from France, Italy, and Switzerland.

"I thought I saw a shooting star but the fluorescent green color and the orange trail behind surprised me," wrote an observer in Saint-Maurice-de-Lignon. "The phenomenon did not last more than 3 seconds I think. It was incredible."

"Probably the brightest meteorite I have observed," wrote a watcher in Courpière, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes." The Watchers.

After SWs fright with the southern auroras after the freezing weather it has been allowed to report a direct hit from a NEO. Perhaps that is also related to the changing weather across the former USA.
