Hatman20: Actually, there's kind of an odd theory circulating in the scientific community that states life on earth may be the result of life that formed on other planets (mars, in particular) and was transported here by debris that was blown off the planet's surface by a comet or asteroid impact, that then entered earth's atmosphere.

It's called Panspermia. Although it's an interesting idea and is theoretically possible (due to the existence of extremophiles, and meteorites determined to have come from Mars), no evidence that it actually HAPPENED has yet surfaced.

There are species who thrive in the most uninhabitable of environments here, so why not elsewhere...Our sense of wonder and what if is what propels us to keep seeking for other animals, other species of plants or anything else.

Blackshoes: According to the law of averages, It's very likely there maybe life on other worlds.
However : The same laws that state that ,'also state that it's just not likely we've ever been visited ! Due to the distances and limitations of space travel !
Even if it were somehow possible to travel at close to the speed of Light ? To a distance star
and that life would be able to find us in a galaxy of over a billions stars and likely even more planets ?Not to mention if our time lines even coincided ? *It would take over 4 years to travel to our closest neighbor ! Time to explore the planets around just that star ,and then ' either return here or go on to the next star ?The time alone that's needed is astronomical ! Fuel the amounts required alone would make the Star ship almost the size of a small moon Of course I just don't even want to mention radiation, that would fried anything within a star ship traveling at the speed of light to powder

One there's lots of reasons .I sure most if not all have reasonable explanation .
Two for the ones that don't ? There's always the possibility that spirits are playing

So unless time travel is possible ',and everything I've read so far says it just not likely ?
These folks that are haveing close encounters are either on drugs or just seeing things that cannot easy be explained ,Maybe Just maybe everything Science and all we know is wrong and little grey men are visiting us and Maybe all the countries are lying to us ! The US has alien ship hidden at area 51 with pilot bodies .
Why hasn't any of this been reveal after thousands if not million of sighting over the last 100 years ??

ghostgeek: One can argue about the possibilities and probabilities of alien life existing and visiting the earth until the cows come home. The reality is, though, that only one thing matters. The evidence. Is there unequivocal evidence for alien visitation of the earth? The fact that the question elicits conflicting responses suggests to me hard evidence doesn't exist, just a load of wishful thinking.
