did you see the photo's of the new found universe still in it's infancy (Page 2)

harlettsines: all forms of humanity lived where ever they found themselves born at ...!!!! when they roamed they did so to survive...

all forms of humanity would have been creative inventive with their environment's would have improved their skills ....

clearly all forms of humanity thrived .. it is our nature to survive & thrive...

the six lane hwy was the super computers way of showing millions of years traveling to where we are now in time & date & strongly suggests there were six species of great ape who stood on two legs that each species had the capacity to become us.... that they kept giving birth to their next rendition until the species evolution went sterile....

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to fathom we mated with one another perhaps picked up traits of each of the other 5 species of us before they went extinct and lucy became the dominate species of humanity

sterility is always the reason for extinction... every rendition of US gave birth to each step of our own species evolutions....

kittybobo34: If you are ranging all over the time line, there were many more versions of hominid than 6. I just picked a specific time of 150,000 years ago.
Sure there was some cross mating, as yet, we have found evidence of 3 youngsters that were crossbreeds of Neanderthal and Cromagnon. Strangely all were buried in a ritual way as if they were feared. In Spain large boulders were placed on top of their grave, and in the middle east they were buried extra deep with a large bon fire on top.
As far as extinction, I have no idea where you got the sterility concept. Extinction just means they were dying faster than they could reproduce. With Neandthal we feel it was disease that got most of them, since they were used to living in isolation, and had no resistance to human pathogens.. .

huffypuffy00: I enjoyed reading all this, buda even, sheesh. Apart from penile bones and bad luck as it seems, I am not convinced of evolution, and have always wondered about the fish pond effect. Still looking for an answer to this one..

Ok so you can make comparisons here, take a pond, our world. Put some fish in it, mix it up if you like. Different kinds. Like us. Give it a few months to a year or until it's full of whatever fish become the top dogs in the pond. What happens next is intriguing.

Well they stop breeding, and then start dying.

Doesn't matter they have plenty of good food, breeding ground, etc. They die out. Not because the other younger fish are killing them, water is good, no disease, They just stop breeding. Finally the youngest are all gone. Weirdest thing. Tried this 4,5 times, same result.

If we compare their world to ours, what is similar, different? I think its boredom. Nothing new is boring. We will all die from boredom, I say. We have nothing new on this planet to explore. Time to move on.

kittybobo34: Inbreeding is a problem, so is bacterial contamination. My brother used to breed fish for the pet shops.

angpd: Hard to believe no one has mentioned this. I find it hard to take anyone seriously that doesn't know the difference between a galaxy and a universe, as this thread suggests.

lori100: citizen volunteers needed to help in classifying images from surveys and Hubble images...--------.....Galaxy Zoo is a project aiming at a more comprehensive list: launched in July 2007, it has classified over one million galaxy images from The Sloan Digital Sky Survey, The Hubble Space Telescope and the Cosmic Assembly Near-Infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey.-------------
We are pleased to announce that The Hunt for Galaxy Clusters has begun! Join The Hunt here: zooniverse.org/projects/matej…

Zooniverse

The Zooniverse is the world’s largest and most popular platform for people-powered research.
---------Go to galaxyzoo.org They have a tutorial on how to classify and then you get fantastic images. zooniverse.org is another great place to find citizen science projects.-------
