Evolution is a well founded theory, yet many people resist the idea. (Page 2)
arnym: I do believe evolution is a well founded theory; but If I ponder the question 'How did everything come to exist?' I confess that the Big Bang doesn't seem a lot more credible than divine creation. I settle back to the position that I'll probably never know the answer and that's just fine.
zeffur: I don't believe evolution is well founded at all or in any way. From what I've see it is complete rubbish.
It is encouraging to see that you're at least honest enough to admit "I settle back to the position that I'll probably never know the answer and that's just fine." That is leaps ahead of those that delude themselves about the theory of evolution & evolution of life on earth, imo.
arnym: I value honesty highly, in myself as well as in others.
I don't subscribe to the general notion that if someone holds an opinion different from mine they can only be deluding themselves. It can be interesting to explore and discuss differing points of view; but not if they are held with vehement inflexibility. That I despise.
zeffur: re: "I don't subscribe to the general notion that if someone holds an opinion different from mine they can only be deluding themselves."
Nor do I generally, however after typing to many evolution believers--it's clear to me that many of them are delusional since most of them tend to revert to attacks & posturing rather than sound logical reasoning to explain/defend their beliefs.
Fog Swept Glade: It‘s when you get beyond why you believe that way & find that happy forum....nowhere, that you may have grounds for an issue.
arnym: FSG, I don't understand what you're getting at - "It's when you get beyond ..." etc. Could you explain?
Fog Swept Glade: What‘s apparent to the player that recognizes an obstruction is that potholes have their own forum. Nobody will fix the potholes.
Fog Swept Glade: Maybe there is a reward for that somewhere, in a themed forum. As it would stand these forums WOULD BE a great way to exchange information.
zeffur: re: "It's probably best to avoid discussing one's beliefs with anyone who's already firmly decided that beliefs that conflict with their own are complete rubbish."
As you wish. I don't force anyone to offer their beliefs with rational explanations for why they believe what they believe. It takes a person with enough intelligence, courage, & confidence to do so--not everyone is that way.
arnym: Damn; I must have missed the warning about this dense fog. No point trying to make progress while it hangs around.
Fog Swept Glade: I‘d like to see a player like Arn without the bells & hooplah command anything. At any rate, your post is an oxymoron. I‘m unfollowing it for vital reasons & french counterproductiveness.
zeffur: Looks like you are off your meds again, hell vomit.
How is it that you don't understand that no one can understand your meaningless gibberish??
arnym: Here's question 1 on your exam:
"Evolution is a well founded theory; Creationism is a well funded theory" - Discuss.
zeffur: Exam 1, question 1 for you:
Show definitive credible evidence that mankind evolved from any other creature. Hint: You can't pretend any previous species/creature is the progenitor of mankind--you actually have to prove it without any assumptions.
Given that evolution isn't 'well founded' at all & that I am not receiving any funding to assert my position & shyte on your beloved evolution for being total caca--your statement is completely false as it pertains to me.
