And what price should people pay for Solar Power, access to rivers and for burning anything they can and anything else?? Should it be related to the national oil or gas generated electricity?? The flying Squirrel: Poblem with Solar is your still got to be Connected to the Grid the way electricty companys have it set up , So if the Grid goes down it Automatily cuts off your Solar ,So its not feeding Elictricy into it m If there trying to fix the Lines or what ever  theHating: where i live, grid connection is not required. connecting to the grid helps to substitute some of the coal or gas used to produce power, essentially distribution of excess solar wattage across the grid. but if your solar panel get-up was done professionally, you would likely have a large battery bank that stores energy generated by your panels and feeds into the house main. so if the grid went down, your house main would still be able draw from your battery bank. there are usually switchboards for battery charging and output control so you can use varying amounts of energy from your solar array and the power company. this is pretty standard equipment, even in the late 80's, because panels were so expensive that most people were only able to afford maybe a enough panels to subsidize only a quarter of their power bill, nevermind forking out the cash for the battery bank. duncan124: The nukes went cross eyed like everything else run by the Government. The "Corporate Special interests" in your view are the actual engineers and workers who have solved your problems up to now. If you want something more then you must pay for it-- and pay for it from the "special interests" who have made it happen . You want it for free , covered up , lied about and Nationalised from your old Corporations. If you want something better you will have to pay more. And the people who have it might just say "Nah, Kittybobo. You are not nice so I won't sell it to you with your bad ideas." And you you will have to go to all that trouble of fighting over oil, gas, Governments and Corporations because you wont stop going wrong. While everyone else has a nice time.
