It's not that black and white. Nobody believes condoms are 100% effective or ineffective. In fact, someone compared contact with the public w/o a mask to having unprotected sex. Now, i see businesses packing mask-wearers into their buildings and surprise! A new peak of twice as many infected. No quarantine, no moderation, "just wear a mask and resume business as usual" Frothing mask-wearers tell me to keep my germs to myself or that means I'm trying to get them sick, well, for some reason they believe masks keep all my germs to myself and not even the CDC is allowed to moderate that discussion anymore. Basically, we knew months ago that wearing a mask to stop corona was like wearing a pasta strainer while scuba diving, but the powers that be (business interests) are too cheap and narrow-minded elitist pieces of shite are favoring this idea of herd immunity and the false sense of security provided by wearing a mask, so we cut off entitlements to the unemployed pandemic working class and put them back to work. Because economics-reasons 101 - the demand for entitlements doesn't correlate at all to a sharp demand for cash, but actually debt slaves who just want to go back to work. Antivaxxers avoid vaccines but there are also disease denialists with bad hygiene. Yes some refuse washing hands and it is a good way for unsanitary types to spread it to vulnerable.
