refurbwoodart: Kitty did you know that Seth Mcpharlen who does family guy and American dad was an engineer on star trek enterprise for an entire season. He usually only makes a quick once or twice little scene and is given an order and says yes sir or right away sir or something lil that but in one episode he actually has a few lines. Pretty interesting. From what I understand he is very smart and very into physics. Dont know haven't met him but he is pretty sharp.

kittybobo34: It seems there are quite a few that get on Star Trek just for the fun of it. Like Whoopie Goldberg, she didn't get paid for some of her spots.

kittybobo34: I liked the episode where they went back in time after finding Data's severed head.. For some reason time related episodes always intrigue me.

refurbwoodart: Quantum minded ehh? Then in that case you love enterprise they have the time rift war. Ohhh what the hell do they call it I forget the words. After they leave the expanse. The wat with the Solibaan. I like the episode where Tpal and Archer go back and steal a truck and rob an ATM to get money to stop the Solibaan from poisoning the human race. And the one where they go back to WW2 where the Solibaan were helping the Nazi's. Thats pretty good too.

kittybobo34: Yes, I recall those episodes,, thought they were a bit confusing since they were constantly changing the time line.

refurbwoodart: Well if your a real fan of the show and series you get it quickly but I guess it can confuse someone not familiar with it

kittybobo34: I was quite familiar with the show,, it was their time line plot that wasn't being consistent.. Each time they changed something there would be a whole different future, even one where the Enterprise didn't exist,, yet they were always refferring to memories of the old future. Still it made a good show.

refurbwoodart: I saw the one the other day about the brain infection Archer got that changed the future too until Flox could treat him decades later

kittybobo34: Wonder if we will ever get another Star Trek series, even a spin off like DS9 would be entertaining.
Or better yet, a jump to the 26th century to follow the time war.

refurbwoodart: Well actually Enterprise goes back before the original its 100 years prior. Plus currently there is Picard and you have to stream that off CBS streaming service. I haven't seen it but a friend tells me its pretty good. He said 7 of 9 joins the TNG crew but its not Jeri Ryan but a woman who looks scarily like her.

refurbwoodart: You know kitty we talked about the two best known sexy women in star trek but one we left out was Vash primarily she was on TNG but she was also on DS9. She was the romantic interest of Pichards who was the archeologist that was a little unscrupulous in her acquisition of artifacts. She really is such a beautiful woman. Her name is Jennifer Hetrick and she has been a very good character actor for the past 30years. She has that silky brown hair with a hint of read and incredible blue eyes. A very sexy woman in her own right. Just thought I would mention her because she really is one of the sexiest women who has ever been on the series. Sorry if thats off topic but I just thought I would add her to the list from before.

refurbwoodart: Well I saw her on DS9 Last night and looked her up and she is only 9years my senior but still very beautiful from the new pictures I saw. Great looking 60yo woman still sexy and very hot

Actually the movie with Matt Damien simply wouldn't work. They completely left the effects of radiation out. and the lack of atmospheric density out. The scene with the huge gale force winds that tore his camp down,,, with the tenuous atmosphere it would have barely been felt. The plastic that he used would not have lasted long against the pressure, cold and radiation.

Now if he had retreated into one of the old lava tubes, somehow sealed it and pulled his nuclear reactor in for heat and power, and somehow found ice.. that would have worked.

refurbwoodart: Yeah this thread is for those who understands physics and science. Some other things are mentioned but its about science

kittybobo34: I love a good Sci Fi flick, but it has to conform to actual physics to be entertaining to me.. They can bend a rule or two but the rest has to be inline with reality.

refurbwoodart: Well the reason star trek is so accurate on physics is it was created by a Navy physicist and after he died they had Carl Sagan's son take over the writing.
