Did Firefly get the axe too soon and did the movie REALLY explain anything??? Gothika_Kitt: I'm a huge fan of the series Firefly. I'm just wondering if anyone else thought It deserved more of a chance? And did anyone else find the movie, althought entertaining, a bit of a let down???  Metaverseguy: I really liked the series. It was a change from the typical Star Trek, Stargate space series. I liked the movie, though it was a bit weird. I thought just simply having that weird girl was strange, but it was nonetheless entertaining.  Daddio35: There was a huge movement to try to get them to continue the series which brought them a few episodes and arguably the movie Gothika_Kitt: I agree. I have to admit I found the River Tam character to be kind of annoying, but I loved Mal and really wish it had continued. I remember reading about the people petitiobning to have it brought back, but that went nowhere lol. I say stop making series after series of Stargate and stuff and bring back the more unique shows like Firefly!! Daddio35: 100% with you there. Firefly was unique and very down to earth for a space opera. I loved the underlying political theme of series, id definitely be an independent if I was there ;p  ColonelKusanagi: it's loosely (perhaps not so loosely) based between two anime, outlaw star and cowboy bebop, if you need a new shot of space western i recommend those. As for the movement to get it back in production earlier this year Nathan Filion said that if he won the lottery he would bring the show back and air it free. This got the Brown Coats buzzing and got a whole new petition in order with pledges and all amassing greater and greater numbers ... and then the whedonverse put a stop to it. stomped on it like a flaming bag of crap, it was ever so heartbreaking.  janesterling: Firefly is definitely one of my favourite shows. Great acting, great characters, and amazing writing. There is nothing like it on the air. Most shows are just mindless, soap opera-esque dramas. Firefly had beautifully written stories. |
