Corwin: Fusion power.

Nuclear Fusion power generation would create no CO2 or other greenhouse gasses, no danger of catastrophic meltdown like Fission reactors, no radioactive waste, and a virtually unlimited supply of Deuterium fuel which can be gleaned from sea water.

It will solve all the world's energy problems, and put an end to any further global warming.

Higgs Field manipulation technology.

This won't come anytime soon, but we've taken our first steps down that path. If we could hack into the Higgs Field, we could conceivably reduce or eliminate the mass of a space-vehicle, which would make light-speed travel a possibility.

Over the long-term, mastering interstellar travel is THE most important undertaking ahead of us, vital to ensure the continuing survival of our species. If we don't make our way to the stars, we will face our inevitable extinction down here on this rock. The Earth exists in a cosmic shooting-gallery, and there's a planet-smashing asteroid or comet out there with our name on it... it's just a matter of time until the next Extinction Level Event like the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. Our best chances of survival are to make sure we're not all here when it happens.

Anti-Gravity flying cars.

Okay.... we don't actually NEED these... I just think they'd be really cool.
