Most issues with scams are online today or are they?

Youtube hid my playlist generally. However the fact is since humans have existed amongst one another there has been trickery. Are most people media literate enough to avoid such trickery or even aware enough in general? I can only hope that media literacy and such can really help kids to elderly understand how to try to avoid troubles whatever in their power.
