That leads to more bullying. If you block neither should be see each other.  Thosny: May I suggest a room wide voting system...(and I know you had something similar to this before). Set it for a threshold of say - 60%. If 60% of the room give a person a thumbs downs, then that person should be muted for 5 minutes. The timer and votes can be refreshed. Would there be abuses? I don't think so - because you would have to acquire consensus with 60% of the room. Or... if the person acquires say...15 thumbs down votes ....within a certain time period (5 minutes) - that could initiate a mute for 5 minutes. Endless possibilities. In the perfect world, that would be the case - but it is not. This is an online environment. If you see/read something you don't like, you have the ability to use the Block function. Sadly, too many don't use it and would rather whinge about it - they are just as annoying.  MRAdam69: A perfect world you can only create yourself, it is how you deal with things and you choose to see them. It is always an option to spend your time on things which makes you happy and ignore the once which doesn't make you happy. Easier said than done at times, but the more you do the easier that gets. What also helps it to except and respect that others have different opinions, nothing wrong with that. They had a different experience before they meet you and base their opinions on their experiences as you do yourself. Just enjoy as much possible and don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you and allow people to make mistakes as long their intentions are correct. Just my 2 cents. Odin: I use a specific phrase when someone is complaining about someone else "bullying" or "attacking" them online. "It's just words on a screen". There's never been a fist come through a computer screen. As for the block option, I still say, as others have said, the block needs to go both ways. If one person blocks someone, it should block both parties from seeing and contacting each other. The block option on this site is one way. You block an antagonist and you can't see them. However, the antagonist can still see you. They can't contact you, badge you, or superpower you but they can still see you and still make statements that can (and will) get back to you (and the target of the antagonism never reports the informants). Boldgo: If you have someone bringing statements to you from a blocked person, tell then you don't want to know (that's why they are blocked in the first place!). If they persist they are clearly not a friend and should themselves be blocked. |
