Friends | I’ve always enjoyed chatting and have taken pleasure in meeting new and interesting people. I am however disheartened as to what the act of socializing has been reduced to – especially online. Be it my lack of eloquence or brevity, but I don’t think 280 characters properly facilitates the exchange of ideas. I also don’t think a cookie cutter themed picture captures a moment. I welcome all who want to chat and get to know one another, but please, just be you - the REAL you. A conversation adheres to a type of music theory, if the melody and individual notes don’t make sense – one can quickly tell someone is being disingenuous. Anyways…I’m Steve, midlife career changer from investment finance to health care. As I work towards a seat in medical school, I split my time between two clinical offices and a University Professor. While I don’t believe what you do solely defines your character, it does provide a small glimpse into who you are. As an instructor, I am a purveyor of truth, and dislike the spreading of falsehood. With that being said, do not be insulted if I correct you on here, it’s not an attack on you, but rather a means for me to spread knowledge. I see goods I want, I have money, I pay money for goods, I own goods. Now consider Bitcoin, I see goods I want, I have money, I buy Bitcoin, I pay for goods in Bitcoin, I have goods. How is the latter situation more “efficient”?” - because what is the difference between having and owning ? Plus previously you said we can not buy with bitcoin so I am confused. tina_time7: I also do not understand what you meant about sears still dying off- where? And this paragraph also leaves me puzzled as to the point: “-Lay people, sophisticated people, the very rich to the very poor can buy a ‘basket of goods’ using cryptocurrency with ease. Currently cryptocurrency as I understand it requires a 10 minute transaction confirmation time. No one is waiting at Starbucks for their coffee payment to clear for 10 minutes. And God forbid they “give you the wrong change”, and you need to wait another 10 minutes for the return transaction? No…just no” AsianGuy333: I should have used the same adjective; I see where the confusion was. I was indicating that purchasing goods via Bitcoin require an additional unnecessary step. Sears at one point was considered a VERY good investment, whereas Walmart was considered third rate. Clearly with hindsight we can see that Walmart won out. I was using it as an analogy that Bitcoin might seem attractive now, but you have to actually evaluate it appropriately. Related to above, Bitcoin doesn’t allow for easy exchange of goods, which weakens the argument of it being digital “currency” As of the date of writing, bitcoin transaction are not “instant” - you can’t just hand someone bitcoin and walk out the door, you have to wait for ledgers to confirm the transaction. I don’t know if that’s still the case now…but I imagine it is? unknowman: Where I currently work in a company that manufactures books with robotic palletizing arms and complex cover or binding machinery among other types of sophisticated machinery. unknowman: My parents were married before I was born and the ones in the photo are my uncles and cousins from dad's family, mom's would supposedly be photographed apart from my dad's. My little blond cousin with blue eyes, the youngest of the three brothers who is much older than me, in fact I haven't seen him in a while, it seems like he hides in some strange way from me so that I can't see him, it's a strange ability he has. unknowman: I was able to see them on the news many years ago along with my father and we were both shocked to see a recording of a mass execution by Chinese soldiers on the news, I think it was quite different to these that I have obtained because they were in moving the firing squad. Now that I remember it I think of my father who died of pancreatic cancer with metaxtasia as if they were the same. Also, the last time he was taken to the hospital or a nursing home, two nurses evicted my mother from the room, leaving my father alone with them he screaming my mother's name until he died, she told me that. If my students see me next year or wanted to ask me for a letter of rec, they need to know what I look like. Normally I don't like posting these things, and I hope this is the last time I have to update these pictures. It's getting tiresome people demanding proof of what I do - and then double or triple down on it in face of glaring evidences. People are so ingrained in their fantasy world any sort of reasoning or friendliness doesn't exist because they're 'acting out their fantasies'. The majority say things for 'shock factor' anyway and they are bored. Like a kid saying "hahaha you smell like 💩, everyone! Look! They smell like 💩!" I wouldn't delve too far into something so shallow and empty as their heads are, hun AsianGuy333: I’m not diving into the abyss just to research it.
