What's transpiring in the Middle East is deeply distressing, especially when innocent civilians on both sides become embroiled in the conflict. Simultaneously, it's evident that this conflict will persist as long as the leaders on either side are more inclined toward warmongering and fostering hostility, pitting people against one another. As long as we continue to categorize one another based on religious affiliations like being Jewish or Muslim and draw divisive lines, human beings will remain ensnared in conflict. Evil individuals may commit malevolent acts, while good people perform virtuous deeds. Yet, evil often co-opts religion to justify its actions. Rather than perpetuating divisions based on religion, color, or race, let us strive to simply be good human beings. |
