cedarrrrock: Intellectually I know it is potentially deadly (in an especially gruesome way) to go to markets even wearing a mask, since many other people passing by could be infected and spreading this virus without yet showing symptoms, and the virus can live 72 hours on plastic. So, I wipe down frequently-touched surfaces using the disinfecting wipes the store provides at its entrance. But in stores not providing even a dab of hand sanitizer, I could lose big time. I have not yet found even one package of decent-size wipes available for sale in stores, only a package of 2"-squares barely large enough to sterilize ones fingertips!. The lack of new cases locally leaves me perhaps much too hopeful that this pandemic has already blown over.

kittybobo34: Personally I think that this should be an individual decision. We know the risks, and we know how to behave in public, wash hands etc.. We balance risks all the time when we drive, play sports etc.. this is little different. We can't put our lives on hold waiting for the government to get their act together to come up with a decent test, and vaccine.

kittybobo34 in reply to Nicotina: Good question, I am saying my convenience isn't costing any lives. I know of no one I have infected or been infected by them, even though I go to the grocery and support a food pantry on a regular basis.. If we maintain proper personal behavior we do not need Big Brother telling us what we can or cannot do.

Nicotina in reply to kittybobo34: Asymptomatic people are spreading the virus & given that hospitals and 1st responders can not get adequate PPE what "proper personal behaviour" are you suggesting?
