deoraide: Yes Guru, this is the Atlantic ocean which luckily is just three miles (5kms) from me. This place makes me happy when I walk here. It has everything - nature at its best. As you say, it makes me forget the troubles and worries of life. I love this place. Tom

deoraide: This is Ballycotton and St.Colmans Cathedral is just a few miles along the coast as the crow flies. Situated in Cobh which is about 20miles by road (35kms) from my home. Cobh (formerly Queenstown) is one of the saddest places in Ireland. From here hundreds of thousands have immigrated from Ireland, because of poverty and famine. Most never saw family or Ireland again. Titanic left here on its fatal journey carrying on it hundreds of the poorest of our people in the cattle holds below deck. These are seldom remembered. Ccbh is now a place of rememberance by millions around the world - good to remmeber but hope these times will never come again. Thank you for reminding me. Tom

deoraide: Hi June, I guess it is the beauty and he isolation that I like about it. I do this walk as often as I can - it is just 3 miles/5kms from me. It is where I am happiest and yet it is also where I am saddest - difficult to explain. Thanks for the comments.

deoraide: Thanks JD. I love the ocean and the ruggedness of the area around here. Nature and its family is what I like most in life. I am glad that I have been given the opportunity to enjoy it. Thanks again mate.
