A_Muse_Mint101: As of this post, 870,000+ people have been identified infected with COVID-19; of those identified, 43,000+ have died, globally. Mathematically, that's between 4-5% mortality rate.

If 300,000,000 people in the USA become infected, going on 4% mortality expectation, that will be 12,000,000 who die, 5% is 15,000,000. This can potentially be the most deadly thing to strike our nation, and the world, since the Spanish flu of 1918 which killed about 675,000 in the USA, and between 20-50 million worldwide. Stop with the complacency and nonchalant attitude about this (not directed at anyone in specific), and follow the direction of health and medical professionals. We can potentially get through this and keep the deaths as low as possible, at this time, with the proper attitude/practice about personal/public hygiene/distancing.

A_Muse_Mint101: I was brushing up on statistical analysis, yesterday, and death rates are calculated a little differently than I mentioned. You take the total population and divide that by the number of deaths and multiply that by a round number (often 1000) in a given year (or time frame). This gives you a deaths per 1000 people in a given population over a time reference. So, for 330,000,000 Americans divided by 6000(+) deaths times 1000 yields a death rate of about 2 per 1000 in the time we've been keeping record of this, which is less than 1% death rate over the past 3 months.

Cringe and Purge: the covid-19 death rate is generally inflated as many of the government agencies collecting the data are including anyone dying of any cause who tested positive for covid-19 in the statistics. this is why there is such a disparity between different states and nations. generally this is inflating the real number by about 50% but in some nations, such as italy, by as much as 88%. for example, the official aggregate number of covid-19 deaths for alabama as reported by the major outlets is 32 while the alabama health department has recorded only 17 with covid-19 being the actual cause of death.

brighti: I calculated it to be more like 206,000,000 after a year based on the growing progression of how many actual deaths there probably were in China, vs. the lies the CCP put out.

brighti: Wait, 106,000,000 I think actually. But still a lot more than 12,000,000. Either way it's still a lot.
