Akira Shakur (born May 29 1983) better known by his stage name "ELIJAKAIN" is a West Koast rapper out of the notorious City of Watts section of Los Angeles California. He is presently residing in Phoenix Arizona working on the release of his highly anticipated sophomore a release ''DEAD 2 DA WORLD". This is his first time as a solo artist , he has been in many groups prior to serving a decade long prison term and realized from experience that his success in this business will only come as a solo act. " I don't like to blow my own horn or nothing but every group Ive been in my lyrics were incomparable to the other members and i stood out like a sore thumb. It always caused envy with in". says ELIJAKAIN in an online interview in 2009.

early life: Akira Shakur was born in Los Angles ,California and was raised in Compton and Watts. He moved from Watts to Compton when he was ten years old," yeah man me and moms got kicked out of the Haciendas (watts blood gang projects) when i was younger so we went to live with my aunt in Compton right in Santana block hood, i was like damn moms". said Akira. At age 15 he moved back to Watts and , there, official continued his indoctrination as a gangster from the ruthless Hacienda Village Blood Gang. " Real shit i aint get put on shit i was born in it all my uncles but two claim the hood it was automatic for me,"said Akira in an interview in T-zone magazine 98'. Akira Shakur has attended most of the school in the greater L.A. area but has not graduated from any. He acquired his G.E.D in 2007 from state prison. Shortly after being released from prison in 2008 he was involved in a near fatal accident being struck by a moving vehicle as he crossed the street on the way to a local strip club," That situation nearly cost me my life , i spent 30 days in I.C.U. with 17 broken bones. that shit made me picture life in a new light because you can die at any time. The money i got was kool but that shit hurt worst than gettin shot," said Akira.
