Alan Watts sincerely suggests to us that we treat work like play. Imagine having several stacks of dishes to wash as part of your job; think of it as having only one dish--all there is is the present moment ("one dish to wash" your entire life) so make a game of it... swirl the spunge around a few times and then rinse the plate then grab the next (why not be enthusiastic?). Before you know it, you'll be done. Why not make a game of it? Why must things of this nature be seen as work? If you have to do them, do them well. And try to enjoy it. Surrender yourself to what is. Don't resist and cause your own tension. That much you can control. The awareness of *what is* is what you are... You're it!
