Loric_WorldBreaker: I think it comes from the general lack of discussion and general rhetoric that most people take, which can stem just from the education system in general. From a young age its not prioritized to have discussion based education, an education system which puts memorization at the forefront as opposed to individuals formulating an opinion based what they've read or experienced. This, I think, leads people into their adult lives on both ends, left and right, spewing opinions that aren't even really their own opinions or thoughts, and having a visceral reaction to ideas opposed to their's rather than a logical one that would have been generated through actual time to think on and digest an issue. They've just memorized their political alignment as well as the publically pre approved reactions to have for it.
like if someones trans or gay or whatever and they're not bothering you, why go out of the way to hate them??
