Anime

I figured out why I like to watch Anime even though I'm not a weeb: I can't predict the outcome of the stories. Most of the shows or movies (or any entertainment in general) they show here in the USA are predictable as fuck. They follow a formula, have laughing tracks to tell us when we should laugh, or the main character always wins, or if he loses there's a obvious and cliche moral that's being presented. Anime doesn't give a fuck about any of that, idk what is going to happen, and there could be no moral or point at all, or the ones being presented are complex and not exactly comfortable to think about. Plus, there are certain ones that I could regard as works of art. Hard to think of a show here in the US that I would call art.

PaleBurnedAcid: One of the reasons i don't watch TV or Movies is they're so predictable. I'm totally with you there. I do watch Chinese movies occasionally.
If you find something that doesn't bore the arse of you, then enjoy it.

LunaRiviera: You know it's funny, this reminds me of my love of Grimm Brothers fairy tales and other folk tales. I don't mean the highly sanitized, Disney-ized versions but the bizarrely dark originals. Of course, these folk tales are absolutely meant to have a moral but they're presented in the most fucked up way possible. Although, some of these stories didn't really seem to have a moral other than, "Hey kid, don't do that." If you want to be confused and a tiny bit upset by the ending of a story, read the Hans Christian Andersen version of The Little Mermaid. It's a giant wtf.

Freaks On Fire: Yeah, those versions of the stories are way better. Everything is becoming the Disney version of life and it just isn't for me.
