Friends | We did this thing at work, where everyone on the team had to write a descriptive word about each other. Then a computer program generated each person's words into a cool picture that you can frame and keep at your desk, etc. Team-building and all that stuff. Here are the words that my coworkers used to describe me. Figured it's an easy way to cheat in this "About Me" section. Hard-working, candid, caring, laugh, sensitive, principled, resourceful, free-spirit, dedicated, family, kind, genuine, organized, wise, smart, survivor, music, sweet, passionate, funny, friendly, helpful. Your music still brings me joy and will never be forgotten. Especially on 8/11/1978 when I got to hang out with you and ride around in your limo with you and some members of Great Southern. Those good ol' party days! I worked at WLIR at the time and we were simulcasting the concert at the Calderone Concert Hall. An album was produced of that show. Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Southern Jam, New York 1978. I always liked Dickey and IMO, Allman Bros were never the same after Dickey left the band. HalcyonDays: Most amazing photo of the eclipse I've seen yet, found in a James Webb telescope group on FB. View all 6 posts HalcyonDays: There are other photos, equally amazing in the NASA's James Webb Space Telescope FB group!! HalcyonDays: Warning: 4-hour concert link. Goose's last night of their 4-night run at the Capitol Theater this week. Vampire Weekend joined them at the beginning of the 2nd set for a few songs. Quite fun. And my favorite Goose song, Hungersite - appears 3 hours and 7 seconds into the video. Might be the best version of this they've played. I think this was their best night out of the run though all nights were good. HalcyonDays: Well…The world didn’t end and Jesus didn’t come back. Lots of disappointed conspiracy theorists out there 🤣 View all 5 posts WOhiogal1970: Cell phones weren’t damaged nor was I harmed between 12:30-3:30 am either because of the cosmic rays that came before the eclipse HalcyonDays: About 25 minutes into this 40 minute jam . . . I completely forgot what song they started the jam with. I love when that happens. Caught in the moment! HalcyonDays in reply to evergreendr: I was not. This was in Mexico the other night. They play there every February - do a 4 night run on the beach. I watched the webcasts. They live broadcast. pamhuntres: Hi Honey....I miss you too. There have always been special people in my life who tug at my heart, You are one of those people! Without a bunch words and expressions people assume we all view the same way. I will tell you that I have a large stained glass window I commissioned called the Look Far. I see us like that. Like a pair of sailboats with sails up rushing through the water We see each other like our sailboats feel the wind. I can feel you in my wake catching up to me, I can turn into your charted water and know if danger lies ahead or if we are simply sharing new thought, I think this is the secret of real friendship. View all 4 posts HalcyonDays in reply to evergreendr: Gram Parsons = one of my favorites. And this tribute? Each song more beautiful than the next and the caliber of musicians playing tribute is unparalleled. (in my opinion, obviously). HalcyonDays: pammie!!!! How do you always manage to "appear" just soon after you are in my thoughts?? Miss you. HalcyonDays: Important warning about something that happened to my daughter in her house today. Physics is cool. Spontaneously combusting couches are not cool. The moment the fog lifted, the sun somehow hit the vase at the perfect angle to refract the rays and light up the couch. (see first picture with vase - you can see the line of smoke rising. In the second picture, you can see the burn on her couch). I'm spooked, she's spooked but very thankful that she was working from home today. She smelled the burning which is what alerted her. So please - don't keep glass vases near windows that are next to couches! or chairs! Or anything! View all 15 posts i catalyst: oh yes, look through a clear jar of water you can see how it magnifies. also, i learned years ago doing glass to be mindful of windows with clear bevels for the same reason HalcyonDays: Got my tix last week! Yip Yip Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for thinking of me. HalcyonDays: Today, January 27th, is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Light a candle, say a prayer, remember the 6-million Jews and 5-million others who perished, and honor all those who survived to share their stories. View all 6 posts paintmynails: I’m reading a book about Irena Sendler, I love that there were good people among all that terror. paintmynails: I read quite a bit of historical fiction from that time, some based on real facts. And I always question myself, would I have been one that would help as much as I could to keep Jews from being taken away and killed. And I hope to God I would’ve been. evergreendr: Will do...indeed. Bless all who perished....Jews, & all others Kiss hugs (((((Halcyon))))) HalcyonDays: Good news Thursday. Got tickets to see String Cheese Incident in Atlantic City at the Hard Rock Casino in May! My boys finally are playing on the east coast. Saw them this past summer but it was part of a festival so they only played an hour. Now? 4 hours of yay!!! View all 7 posts HalcyonDays in reply to sueike: I saw your new toy and commented on it the other day!!! You will look so cool on that! HalcyonDays in reply to sueike: That's near to you - about 5 hours drive for me if I were down here. You'll have an amazing time!! I'm down here for the week - cool in South Florida but 70 today and back to 80s by Wednesday. Kelvinator823: I once ran into Bruce Hornsby at Fenway Park when he was touring with the Grateful Dead HalcyonDays: I don't think anyone here will understand the significance of this post but I don't care. I do and that's all that matters. Y'all know I love Phish. Many of the Phish songs come from a thesis project that the lead guitarist, Trey, had to do in college. He had to write a narrative to go along with the music he was writing so he came up with a mythical land of Gamehendge, The Gamehendge saga, as told on The Man Who Stepped into Yesterday album, tells the story of Colonel Forbin, a retired colonel from Long Island, New York, who enters the land of Gamehendge, the land of lizards, and rescues a document called the Helping Friendly Book from an evil dictator named Wilson. Well, they performed it only once, 30 years ago and it's been every Phish fan's dream for them to perform "The Man Who Stepped into Yesterday" again. Phish granted our wish at their New Year's Eve performance this year - performing Gamehendge with costumes, Broadway stars, dancers . . . they pulled out all the stops. I've never seen 20,000 people collectively combust (as did I) when we realized what was happening. All I can say is I am so glad that I was there! (even though it was a great surprise for everyone watching the webcast). Here is the full 2 hour pro-shot video from the concert. View all 8 posts shaftyma57: That is so fantastic they did that again, I know what it means to you like it does to Nick... So happy you got to be there =) HalcyonDays in reply to shaftyma57: Nick is probably thrilled now that they put out the pro-shoot. I'm sure he'll be watching it over and over! |
