dr_cantaloupe: Those are rules. Not complaints. I just reread my last message and felt clarification was in order.

Hyenablood: Well last night at 2:19 am, in one of the apartments I guard, the police had to be called. In one of the apartments people were yelling, screaming, and throwing things. I contacted my field manager and someone called the cops. The officers showed up, I went down to the lobby, the paramedics showed up. A guy was arrested, and I wrote it all down in my report and had to stay about 20 minutes past my shift to wait for the cops to be done. I wrote my report about all that happened, I finished up my duties and left about 3:30am.

Last night was the first night I ever had to deal with the cops, and domestic violence.

Hyenablood: not to worry ! I do not put myself in any dangerous situation ! I do not put my hands on anyone, I don't enter a room if I suspect something is terrible wrong. If a maniac/drunk/high person is lurking around I will located them, and keep my distance.

Hyenablood: I have to say this working 5 hour shift at a aparment building as security isn't bad. Nice and quiet, no drunks, no noise complains. The other night I got scared by a city bunny hopping around on the edge of the parkade at 2:00 am !!

Hyenablood: we'll see how tonight goes, there is a door that I can't get to lock no matter what I try or do. And the cellphone the apartment manager left for me doesn't open, so I can't use it, only to recieve calls from tenents. If an emergency happens, I have to use my own cellphone.

Hyenablood: well I'm not working at the downtown hotel anymore. The manager called my company and told them that they don't want ME working for the hotel as a security guard anymore. Now I just have to wait for my bosses to find me a new location to work security at.

Hyenablood: corvin, I'm not out of a job, I'm still with my security company, it's just that the 'client' of my security company-the hotel, doesn't want me to work as a security guard at their hotel. My boss will be calling (emailing ) me this upcoming week, hopefully with another site or place for me to work as a security guard, hopefully not one that isn't in a area filled with drunk people.
It was one guy that weighed like 250 or more pounds, passed out drunk in a chair in the lounge of the hotel, I was the only guard on site, and I couldn't wake the asshole. I called my field manager, and he couldn't come help me for a few hours, then I was going to call the non emergency number when two managers lifted up the drunk guy and got him out. That is why the hotel doesn't want me working there anymore, even a male security guard would have had trouble lifting this dead weight drunk up and out of that chair.

Hyenablood: ugh, I've had enough of dealing with drunk people acting like idiots in the hotel I worked for. Sadly now one of those useless drunks cost me my postion at that hotel, and the hotel doesn't want me being security for them anymore. My company boss says he will find me another site to work at, so now I move on to another place evenually.

Hyenablood: well in another hour or so I'll be back at the hotel, doing patrols thru hallways, cold parkades, standing in a nearly empty lobby, having to deal with a not working exit arm lift that refuses to work correctly in cold weather.

Hyenablood: had to deal with two drunk guys last night with my 6 foot male security guard co-worker. Fun, lots of fun dealing with two drunk idiots. Then I alone had to get both of them to leave the hotel lobby !! the blonie idiot slurred ' it's a good thing they sent a girl, otherwise i'd have messed up that other guy ' thank god I'm a girl ? I managed to get the two of them to leave the hotel before we had to call the cops.
Then in the last hour before my shift is over, paul, the front desk guy, starts challenging me over a bed side alarm going off in a guests room. If the room is occupied, the guest is still in there, I cannot enter and shut the alarm off, I walk away. Paul kept demanded "what's your decision ? " I don't have one, if the room is occupied I cannot enter or do anything. Ended up having to talk to the manager about it all with my co-worker and the manager sided with us the security guards. We can do nothing if the guest is still in there, the guest hasn't checked out.

What is with people ? drunk, challenging me like I could suddenly make the situation all better if I just busted down the door !! what. a. night.
