(Post deleted by staff ) josephus1959: You eat all of it, the shell is soft only the female crab and they are harvested after she loosing the hard shell and forms the new soft shell ..it is called the molt You will want more than one....Some like sandwiches (bun) made with the crab with tartar sauce josephus1959: Actually blue crabs are caught near me, they separate the female crab from the males and keep them in tanks with running water. until she looses her hard shell and forms the new soft shell btw they are expensive as the supply is limited. kneelingprincess: ~ How much was your lunch?... and how many blue crabs did you get for that price? Now I want some crab! josephus1959 in reply to kneelingprincess: Actually the picture was taken from T W's Oyster bar close to me, Usually U get 2 and can get 3 if they are small.
