Western Culture lacks or has "No soul" since avoidance of meta-qualifiers, such as ethics or morals licenses their arguments of the benefits of the trappings of secular materialism to be the validating justification, per se, for their culture

That explains the muted to passive responses to the historical outrages, PLUS the emphasis on ORDER over contentions-for-equity/justice. 'Things'/possessions are what matters most as the ends/goals of their existence, more than intangibles/qualitative constructs.

Attainment of a sense of security that presumes an orderly status quo for the trappings of that security/comfort for themselves in particular and others, coincidentally is the hallmark of their general to mass detachment from the consequences of inequities and injustice.

Prejudice and biases are denied, because the intent is to avoid responsibility or accountability for concurrent misfortunes of others, than a direct ad hominem ill-will for 'the others'.

To that extent they will nullify with rationales any arguments based on intangibles as irrelevant to the circumscribed focus on materialistic ends being its own self-justification.
