Baking City!

I've never been huge on celebrating Valentine's Day, but I do treat it as a day to recognize and appreciate the kind things people around me are doing. I usually make hand crafted cards for a few people I am close to or that I work with frequently. Then most years I will have some appreciation project that I am doing. Most years it's for someone in need or a group in need, but this year I have decided that I am going to do something different. I've just started attending a day treatment school and the staff there usually end up working harder than your average teacher. Not only do they have to deal with the education factor they have to assist students with significant emotional or mental problems. Sadly, the students rarely express gratitude toward the staff for their hard work and seamingly everlasting patience. So this year I am creating a Valentine's Day Gratitude Basket. I am putting baked goods, a card, possibly a stuffed animal and other such things and putting them in a basket for the staff. I have not made up my mind if I am going to have it be a drawing or where everybody gets something. I'm not sure which would be the fairest and which would be the most fun. Let me know if you guys have any fun ideas. I will be baking Sunday, and probably parts of Monday. It depends on how much I get done tomorrow. OH! and I am baking a batch of cookies for my grandparents. I always find them something small but sweet to do on Valentines Day. I want them to know just how much I love them. Well back to baking things and chatting.
