Clothes Shopping

So I realize that you go through emotions sometimes faster than germaphob's change their underwear but its still crazy how a successful shopping trip can make all the difference in your day.

I have just recently started getting too big for my pants and because most of my shirts are fitted tshirts they are starting to become unfitted. Today I treated myself and the baby to a ride to the local second hand store today. I was very unconfident that I would find something as yesterday my Mom and I went to the local mall and we hit Sears, Smellers (aka Zellers) and The Bay and NONE of them have maternity sections any more.

As we were driving to the second hand store today I was begining to think that I may have to buy my clothes at the real maternity clothing stores and pay an arm and a leg for things I might only wear a handful of times.

When we arrived at the thrift store I had to locate the maternity section as I can safetly say up until now I have avoided that section like the plague! There were some items on the shelf, the usual - you know you are at a thrift store when you see this type of garment - items but also a few jeans, jean skirts and a top. I grabbed as many as my weak little body could carry and off to the change rooms we went.

I will admit now that I am not normally a person who watches themselves in the mirror but now every time I catch a glimpse of my bulging belly I think to myself - self there is a baby in there! - and I try not to get emotional or spend too much time oogling over my body!

Anyways I tried on the first pair of jeans totally expecting disappointment. I can never buy "normal" jeans with out them being too baggy in the bum, too tight in the crotch, too long in the leg, or any or all of the above! These slid on like my normal pre-pregnancy pants did and they came right up and O M G - they fit like a miracle. I looked amazing in them - maybe even hotter than in my favorite pre-pregnancy pants.

Reluctantly I took them off and tried on another pair and they fit too!!!! I tried on two jean skirts with the same success and then a top that I didn't like as much and a skirt that was an odd length.

I very proudly took my 2 pairs of pants, 2 skirts and a plaid longer top that I found on the way to the casheir with me and paid a whopping $27 for everything! One pair of pants and one skirt are from Thyme so I am sure they could double that for themselves.

Since I was on a roll I went off to Walmart, found some cute leggings that I can wear with the skirts or the non maternity dress tops my Mom and I found yesterday at Smellers and came home to wash everything - twice!

I couldn't wait for the laundry to finish so I could rip off my sweatpants and my boring unisex tshirt and put on my new plaid dress top and some leggings - I feel marvelous! If every day is like this I just might classify this next 6 months as the best in my life.

Sadly I had a quick chat with my sweat pants and Dave's sweatshirts that he doesn't know I have been wearing and told them from now on we can hang out on home days or days when I feel really crappy but I won't be wearing them all the time.

Off to marvel at my pregnant belly in these marvelous pregnant clothes and hopefully Dave notices when he comes home from work.
