[My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe, with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring, we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum. It's breathtaking. I suggest you try it.]

paganpoetry: I like how you see it, Fist. An author on NPR said something that I'm always echoing now, instead of "follow your purpose, follow your curiosity" and that seems realistic, for me. So now instead of wondering what my "purpose" is, I know to live a more present state, and have recognized a *few* things that are meaningful to me, like family, love, etc etc etc.
FistOfStone in reply to paganpoetry: that's wonderful pagan ... i think the more we can appreciate the present moment without needing anything more than that, the more self-actualized we are ... in any case i'm glad you've recognized those things and i hope you have them and find them in abundance
DEEP dysanthropy: Thanks to your advice- me and my ex are back together. 13 years, before i was ever even on wireclub in 2008

paganpoetry: I do not know about the word itself, I rely on the speaker's use of it. And maybe, there lies some of the "limit" on language she mentions...... Maybe how it is translated to us, "means" differently to her, individually.... And how words can change and mean many things to us all...individually... Idk.
paganpoetry: I think it goes beyond his loyalty to country, but rather the overarching "ideal" of honour that is most important. Because of this immense duty to honour, I think it intensifies his love of his woman. In order for him to honor her fully, he must first be dutiful to honor itself. Whatever that is....
paganpoetry: I found a fun book of poetry about feisty females in history, or herstory. Women who are "More Spice than Sugar" and this was one of them. I was reading them to a younger relative but man, I really enjoyed them myself. I needed some heroines to pump me up....been feelin so unhero like,...........

paganpoetry: Fist, for the most part, I see what seems like various images of destruction, rubble, shells, dust, death, perhaps the voice of the person sitting on the embankment, calling for a heart mantra, crying out for help, to get through the current chaos. I'm not totally sure. I am very impressed by his work so far though.

paganpoetry: Yes, that would be apropos, the cloud following me another post. I feel as though a cloud has been following me much past the extent of these poems. For a while now.....
But I do like being swallowed by the poetic mist.....yes.
