PatKL808: Oh...those are called horn wraps for the cattle....that's just to protect their horns from rope burns when they are being roped...all callte with horns need to have it put on....

PatKL808: that's a different breed of cattle...called Coriente cattle...there are most commonly used at ropings here in Hawaii and elsewhere...despite their looks of their body these cattle are bred for roping...but ranchers really do take care of these animals...they tend to take the heat even in 85-90 degree heat...
