A Nation's Prayer

Lord we lift your name in prayer
For those that have died,
Those for which we care
The United States are in despair
So much hurt, so much fear
We pray to you Lord to protect
Those of us that are in neglect
Out of reach for medical care
Those of us that risk our lives to bear
All the things we have so far
With diligence, bravery, and heart of gold
For those who are buried and cold
Trying to stay alive,
With all their might, trying to survive
For all the soldiers that are prepared to give
To give their lives, to be sure others can live
Without fear that this will happen again
To help us prepare, to begin
To repair and move on
Lord with time these fears will be gone
But the lives and spaces in our hearts
Are and forever will be gone
Never to be there again
So Lord we lift your name on high
So healing can once begin
