I am there

I was the the day the towers fell
I was with a nation that was hurt, and life taken
I saw the whole nation shaken
So disturbed and hurt
I showed those who died
A way home free of pain, with no reason to hide
I was there when soldiers, firefighters, and police
Tried to save lives, tried to give peace
I was there as the nation cried
I too was in tears
I was there through the clean up
I helped though all the fears
I know I am there on the battle field
Posing as the soldier's shield
Trying to protect them all
Though some may fall
I take them in my arms
Free from all harm
I will always be there
Protecting from the devils star
