Sir Loin
Sir Loin: Tararua Mountain range close to home. Their first white dusting for this winter. Unfortunately there's a 49yo British tourist missing up somewhere near the highest point just to the right of centre. It's pretty technical travel up there requiring a lot of mountaineering experience in winter. I've camped on the very top of that peak in a howling blizzard and wasn't sure I'd make it. I am very much afraid this bloke has had it, poor guy.

Sir Loin: They're not sending us in to look for him as the weather has bombed out badly with hurricane force winds and chill factors around -20C . Visibility almost zero.
I doubt I will sleep well tonight thinking about him.

willowmoon16: Sir Loin, I am sure if he is an experienced mountain climber and that this is not the first time he has encountered bad weather and knows how to find or build a shelter until the storm passes. They are a hardy breed of men who know how to survive in the worst of conditions. But a prayer that the storm ends soon so rescue crews can go looking for him, will not hurt, but have confidence that he, as a fellow mountain climber, if there is a way to survive he will. Keep the faith Sir Loin.

Sir Loin: Getting back to this poor bugger lost up there, it's been a week of below freezing, snow, low cloud and howling winds up to 250kph up there, very little hope he'll be found alive but just in case I team went in and left supplies of food at all the huts he's likely to visit.

Sir Loin: Weather is a little more settled today but still no sign of him. Rescue parties have been following his likely route, leaving firewood and food at huts. One rescuer slipped on ice and broke his leg, weather was too rough to evac him by chopper so a bunch of us had to make a stretcher and carry him out.
I wish people would consider the danger rescuers put themselves into to save lives.

You need to remember you have responsibilities too .. And how your loved ones would feel if anything happens to you ..

Yes we all have a responsibility not to put ourself in situations where we need rescuing by others ..

Now listen to Amy lol xx

Sir Loin: Sad news. His body has been found at the bottom of a waterfall well below his planned route. My guess is he tried to drop down into a valley to escape the weather and slipped. Its still to rough for a chopper to fly in so a ground crew is walking in to retrieve his body, one of the saddest jobs for rescue personnel, I hate that part.
