tallboy61: i went to Beijing last June and they took my rum off me that i got in the duty free shop in London . The rum was sealed in London and i was on a connecting flight to Mongolia .The custom official said it wasn't allowed and took it off me and said they would keep it for 30 days and if i wanted it back i would have to leave the airport come back in via a different door go to the reclaim desk , present my receipt and get my bottle back . . I think they were talking "bollocks " as we say in the UK . Does anyone know if this is correct as ive never had duty free took from me when in transit , even in countries where alcohol is banned..
