Working

I worked today. At last.

Just a few minutes before I was about to go out to get my hair cut, I got a phone call from one of the Goodstart centres I had put down at which to be a casual, asking if I could come in straight away, which I did, and it went well, helped by working with the kindergarten children, rather than younger ones. I'm also going in tomorrow, at an earlier time.

A big concern, and I knew it would be an issue, is my physical state. Daycare has more sitting down on small, hard chairs and getting down than After School Care, and that's what aggravates my arthritis and bad back (two separate things) the most. Hence, I'm in quite a bit of pain at the moment, despite going to get medication from the doctor for my arthritis a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, this all might be just a couple of days' work, and then nothing for ages. But at least it's something, when it was looking more and more like I was never going to have a paying job again.

Thank you to all for your thoughts and prayers.
ExtreMished
ExtreMished: doc, this is good news. Just to get your foot in the door and start to build relationships with other members of the team.
The back and arthritis issue is something you will have to watch, but as you say, if the work is erratic at first, it may be something you can manage with no alterations to the physical space. Just be aware that there would be OH&S reasons why providing an adult chair for you should be on the table.
In the meantime, HUZZAH!

Christology
Christology: Praise GOD! Good news is good news. God can heal arthritis as well. Do you take calcium? I had a friend who had early age arthritis and he learned about calcium and hasn't had it in 20 years or so now. Praying for you mate. May Jesus Christ richly bless you!

TheDoctor394: OH&S? *blink*
James, I actually have always had plenty of calcium, which helps my bones (I've never had a break), but I was diagnosed with arthritis in the pelvis in 1999, and it hurts in my... er... rear, when I sit on hard, or semi-hard, surfaces for too long. Creams usually help, but I went to get some medication from my doctor when I figure that I could be in for a painful time with this job. In the two weeks since I've started to take it, if anything, it's hurt even more. My sore back is something different, and something I've battled with for even longer.
