!~ There's such a thing as holding on
You can love so dearly but find it gone
The things you cherish are soon to leave
I told you once looks can deceive
The memories so bittersweet
My thoughts of you, they aren't a treat
You promised something but surely forgot
The flower told me you loved me not
The sun it faded into the night
The tears they fell like rain from the sky
I held on so tightly never letting go
I promised myself your love would show
But like I said, looks do deceive
You never meant it but I still believed
The stars I wished on, they never fell
The pennies I tossed got lost in the well
The flowers I tore so graciously apart
So many things wasted on a broken heart.

All about Tikal.

Tikal was the daughter of Chief Pachacamac of an ancient Echidna tribe that existed about 4,000 years ago in what appears in Sonic Adventure to be Mesoamerica. Knuckles the Echidna is said to also have originated from her tribe, but it is unknown whether they are somehow related.

Tikal's mother had died when Tikal was young, so Tikal depended on her grandmother to raise her. Her grandmother was a strong pacifist and taught Tikal everything she believed in. Tikal respected her grandmother and listened to her teaching, and so Tikal became a pacifist herself. After Tikal's grandmother died, Tikal never forgot her grandmother's words and always cherished them and followed her grandmother's wishes to oppose her father Pachacamac's power-hungry ways in making war with and invading other tribes.

Tikal was brought into the future by means of the Master Emerald's power, and after she disappeared with Chaos at the end of Sonic Adventure it is not known where she went. But since the ending picture shows her with Chaos and the Chao at the Master Emerald Shrine, it is possible that she now lives there. However, the time period in which they are in when they are shown is not known.
