0 trog2fdup2c: To my surprise, the power came back on after twelve minutes. But the worst is to dome in a couple of hours, around 8 p.m. Central, peak sustained winds 73 mph then. Distant electrical booms and hums coincide with flickering electric lights. Outside the rain is horizontal, and the wind sounds are getting louder.. trog2fdup2c: Lost power at 5:35 p.m. Central, minutes after my last post. I'm still able to post because I'm on a notebook computer now on battery power, linked by USB tethering to my Android phone, which has been my only Internet access since Hurricane Laura wrecked the infrastructure here. I was due to get full-blown Internet by cable this morning from AT&T, but that didn't happen because of the mandatory evacuation. trog2fdup2c: My power is blinking out from Hurricane Delta making landfall now. I am reprising my visit here of August 27 when I lost power to Hurricane Laura. trog2fdup2c to tempeauetic: Dodging the bullet here, so far as Hurricane Barry goes. Very placid indeed. They keep predicting dire rain. |
