As a young guitarist Santana, got the chance to see his idol B.B. King and also become influenced by other music forms starting from Jazz to Rock and International Folk Music. With the social hippie backdrop, he performed at Woodstock in 1969 and immediately got the attention of the renowned recording company Columbia.

In San Francisco, the young guitarist got the chance to see his idols, most notably King, perform live.
