wickedevilsmile: The fire at Notre Dame Cathedral. The historial lose alone is priceless. It was heart breaking to watch. Hopefully they saved some of the art, wich is also priceless and unreplaceable.

XHuntressX: There is so much artwork that was stored there, and it's also though some of the pieces from Christ's crown was stored there as well. I truly hope they were able to evacuate as many of those items as possible.

wickedevilsmile: Of course it will but not by hand like the Craftsmen did almost 900 years ago. As bad as the fire looked I can't believe they saved as much as they did. I mean the organ could never be what it is if it had burned.

Sahara Dessert
Sahara Dessert: Most of the stone work survived. They have digitized the entire structure, so they will be able to rebuild it exactly as it was. After all these hundred's of years, it wasn't the original woodwork. What they could not save of the art is lost. The structure will be reborn.

wickedevilsmile: Stone works easy. What's not is replacing the beams. From the time the trees were cut down to the time the beams were crafted was between 50 to 75 years. You should read up on the preparation of the wood it's interesting.

irish333Teri: Do any if you know the meaning of Notre Dame? It means Mother of God. There's reasons why the crucifix and crown of thorns were saved. God bless you all on this Good Friday
